๐Ÿพ Train Your Dog While Cooking Dinner (No Extra Time Needed)

The Weekly High Five ๐Ÿพ

One Quick Win ๐Ÿ™ One Video to Watch ๐Ÿ‘€ One Post I Loved

Hey Reader,
โ€‹
Alright, I realize January is almost over, and really, it's felt like a blur of a month hasn't it?
โ€‹
New year motivation is fading. Work is busy. Life is back to normal chaos.

And your dog's training? Probably slipping because who has time for formal training sessions right now?

Here's the thing: you don't need extra time. You just need to train smarter by fitting it into what you're already doing.

This week I'm showing you how to train your dog while cooking dinner, revealing all my multitasking training methods, and sharing an easy enrichment game that fits right into your daily routine.

โ€‹
One Quick Win ๐Ÿ™

This week's Quick Win focuses on "Counter Training While Cooking":

  1. Keep a small bowl of treats on your kitchen counter where you typically prep food.
  2. While you're chopping vegetables or waiting for water to boil (any stationary cooking task), ask your dog to sit or lie down.
  3. Every 30 seconds that they hold the position, toss them a treat.
  4. If they break position, simply wait until they sit or lie down again before giving the next treat.
  5. Release them with "okay" when you're done with that cooking task, then repeat during the next stationary moment.

You're cooking anyway. Your dog's underfoot anyway. Might as well turn it into training time. Over a few weeks, your dog will start offering sit stays automatically when you're at the counter because they've learned that's how the game works.

I get it, late January is when reality hits. The holiday excitement is over and you're back to juggling everything at once.
โ€‹
That's exactly why multitasking training works. It doesn't add to your to do list. It just makes better use of time you're already spending.
โ€‹

Training while cooking.
Training while working from home.
Training while exercising.
โ€‹
These aren't shortcuts. They're smart strategies for busy people who still want well behaved dogs.

The Weekly High Five ๐Ÿพ One Quick Win ๐Ÿ™ One Video to Watch ๐Ÿ‘€ One Post I Loved Hey Reader,Your dog sees another dog on the walk. They lose their mind. Barking, lunging, pulling. You're embarrassed. Stressed. Avoiding certain routes. Walking at weird times just to dodge other dogs. Here's what you need to know: your dog probably isn't aggressive. They're stressed. And that stress is going right down the leash from you to them, making everything worse. This week, I'm sharing three tips that make...

The Weekly High Five ๐Ÿพ One Quick Win ๐Ÿ™ One Video to Watch ๐Ÿ‘€ One Post I Loved Hey Reader,How many times a day do you say "no" to your dog? No jumping. No barking. No chewing that. No counter surfing. Here's the problem: constantly saying "no" doesn't teach your dog what TO do. It just tells them what NOT to do. And that leaves them confused, frustrated, and likely to keep doing the same things. This week I'm showing you how to flip your training approach from correction to direction, revealing...

The Weekly High Five ๐Ÿพ One Quick Win ๐Ÿ™ One Video to Watch ๐Ÿ‘€ One Post I Loved Hey Reader,We all do it. We spoil our dogs. Extra treats, letting them on the couch, slipping them food under the table, giving in when they give us those eyes. And look, I get it. I love my dogs too. But here's what nobody talks about: spoiling your dog too much creates real problems. Overdependence. Behavioral issues. Even health problems. This week I'm showing you how to find the balance between loving your dog...
