🐾 Why 'come' stopped working (it's not your dog)

The Weekly High Five 🐾

Hey there,

Today’s all about a big quick win that you can utilize after you read this email. So let’s jump right into it.

Quick Win

This week's Quick Win focuses on β€œStop Practicing Failure".

Here's something I see at the dog park constantly:

  1. Owner calls their dog. Dog ignores them. Owner calls again. And again. And again.
  2. The dog finally comes (or doesn't). Owner either rewards them or scolds them depending on how frustrated they are.
  3. Here's what just happened: You practiced failure 4 times and success zero times.
  4. Your dog just learned that "come" is optional, negotiable, and maybe eventually you'll give up.

The Shift:

If you call and your dog doesn't come, calmly go get them.

Don't repeat. Don't yell. Just make it happen.

This single change: making "come" non-negotiable, is the foundation everything else builds on.

Rule #3 in action…
This is Rule #3 from the 5-Rule Recall System I teach in private sessions. It's called "Make It Happen Every Time."

And here's what's wild: most dog owners never learn this rule. They're stuck repeating commands, bribing with treats, and wondering why their smart dog suddenly has "selective hearing."

The other 4 rules? They work together to build reliable recall in about 30 days. But without Rule #3, none of them stick.

Here's what happens when you use all 5 rules together:

  • Your dog starts checking in with you before you call them
  • Recall works even when there's a squirrel (yes, really)
  • You stop feeling embarrassed at the dog park
  • The "come" command actually means something again

I just opened up the 30-Day Recall Course that walks through the complete system, the same one I use in my $1,500 private training sessions.

It's delivered through daily emails (like this one), takes 10 minutes a day, and you'll see noticeable progress by Day 10.

And because you're on this list, you're getting first access to the early bird pricing.

First 50 members save $50 (just $97 instead of $147).

ou got this.

PS. Want to try Rule #3 on your own first? Go for it, just remember: call once, then calmly go make it happen. No repeating. That's how you start building reliability. But when you're ready for the complete system, it's waiting for you.

The Weekly High Five 🐾 One Quick Win πŸ™ One Video to Watch πŸ‘€ One Post I Loved Hey Reader,Your dog sees another dog on the walk. They lose their mind. Barking, lunging, pulling. You're embarrassed. Stressed. Avoiding certain routes. Walking at weird times just to dodge other dogs. Here's what you need to know: your dog probably isn't aggressive. They're stressed. And that stress is going right down the leash from you to them, making everything worse. This week, I'm sharing three tips that make...

The Weekly High Five 🐾 One Quick Win πŸ™ One Video to Watch πŸ‘€ One Post I Loved Hey Reader,How many times a day do you say "no" to your dog? No jumping. No barking. No chewing that. No counter surfing. Here's the problem: constantly saying "no" doesn't teach your dog what TO do. It just tells them what NOT to do. And that leaves them confused, frustrated, and likely to keep doing the same things. This week I'm showing you how to flip your training approach from correction to direction, revealing...

Here's the thing: you don't need extra time. You just need to train smarter by fitting it into what you're already doing. This week...
